New Year Resolutions - 2012

It is time for framing New year resolutions for 2012 and reviewing the status of resolutions made for 2011

Making resolutions are easy, bu treviewing it then and there and completing the resolutions are important.

For years, I used to make resolutions and totally forgot them after January.

So, I make a new resolution this year on how to handle resolutions:

1. Your resolutions should be thought carefully and should be dofferent from your 'To do' list
. Add 'Help the needy' as one of the 'must do' resolution.
2. Record the resolutions somewhere for accessing frequently. ( An excel sheet is ideal)
3. Keep accessing your list of resolutions and follow for completion
4. Record the progress in your resolution list itself
5. have a strong will power to carry out the resolutions, otherwise the resolutions could be postponed or abondened.

If you have some more thoughts on this,  please feel free to add as comments to this post.

Popular Singer Jagjit Singh R.I.P

Jagjit Singh

" Popularly known as 'Ghazal King', Singh gained acclaim together with his wife, singer Chitra Singh. The couple was considered to be pioneers of modern Ghazal singing and regarded as most successful recording artistes outside the realm of Indian film music.
Chitra stopped giving public performances after their only son, Vivek, died in a road accident in the early 1990s. But Singh continued to charm audiences, singing with equal ease in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Gujrati, Sindhi and Nepali languages. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2003.

He died on 10th October 2011 at 8:10 am. He passed away at the age of 70. The reason cited was brain haemorrhage."

Mahalaya Amavasai - Tarpanam - The ancestors' time

The Annual 15 Moons of 'Mahalaya': The Ancestors' Time
The earth plane was designed as a laboratory for the evolution of souls. Great enlightened beings who have turned their body into light visit the earth daily in their light form. All of our ancestors come and stay on the earth plane for 15 days in a year. During these fifteen days they stay in your body, mind and soul and can change all three positively. Not even Gods can do what the ancestors can do for you. In fact, Gods ask you to go through your ancestors for blessings.
These fifteen days start from September 13th night, right after the full moon and ends on the Mahalaya New Moon Day night, September 27th. This two week period is the most important period to appreciate your departed ancestors.

"If I have to recommend one solution for every one of our problems, be it financial, relationship or health, it is doing Tarpanam (offerings to the ancestors). Miracles do happen after the performance of the rituals."

My perception of a Message behind this Mahalaya Amavasai:

The important message of Mahalaya Amavasai is to feed the poor people, animal and birds. This has to be followed atleast in the 15 days of every year !
